Attimis has once again hosted a race that is a part of the Xtreme Trophy Challenge Italy 2016 and Europe Xtreme Challenge 2016. It gathered a number of off road lovers. We’ve also seen three teams from neighbouring Austria and a team coming all the way from Spain.
Even though the XTC teams know this terrain very well, Attimis is always a challenge. Each year new routes are made, the site is so huge!
Guys from the Friuli Fuoristrada club and president Nicola Bianchi bring Attimis race to perfection. There’s so many possibilities.
Xtreme Trophy Challenge Italia is held throughout the year. A number of tearrains is available. Five races make it unique, each race is special in its own way.
These races make it possible for XTC 2016 to cover all aspects of hard off roading. To put these teams in the most challenging situations, that’s the goal of Xtreme Trophy Challenge.
It’s not just about using the winch. the teams need to finish the race in the best possible way. Their vehicle has to be up to the standard to finish all the special tests that are needed to conquer each race.
But lets make a step back and talk about Attimis race that was held last month.
Superserie class was won by Borzi/Scali. After a tight fight with team Tinelli/Sommi, they managed to conquer the race and take the top step of the podium. Tinelli/Sommi finished second followed by team Sturniolo/Passino (Traction4x4).
Prepared class was won by brothers Arrigucci. Their driving was unstoppable and constant rhythm was amazing. They dominated their class with no problems. Morandini/Morganti team finished second pursued by Nardi/Adami who managed to finish third.
The very top of the race, Special class was won by team Collarini/Koci. They squeezed last drops of performance of their vehicle and managed to finish first. Protano and Del Sorbo finished second despite problems with steering pump on both days of racing. Even though the prototype of Cognini and Aguzzi is obviously inferior compared to the protos of Collarini and Protano, they managed to finish on a strong third place.
Attimis race was also a part of both European Xtreme Challenge and UTV Italian championship. You can read the report about Attimis EXC here.
UTV part of the race hosted 17 vehicles. UTV1 class was won by Sandro Savatteri, UTV2 class was won by Franco Ricci and the Turbo UTV class was won by Roberto Mazzega. Colle San Bartolomeo is the fourth race in the XTC calendar and it will host the next UTV championship race.
Next race of the XTC Italy is coming soon, on 28th and 29th of May.
