XTC Attimis Italy 2015, with its large area, is one of the most historic arenas in the Italian XTC Championship. Due to its vastness, every year different stages can be prepared.
The 2015 edition of the Friulian XTC stage has enjoyed undisputed success by the crews and the audience.
32 crews competed (3 in the SuperSeries, 18 in Prep Class and 11 Special Class crews), three of them from Austria. It’s a new XTC record, it exceeded the 2011 Gubbio record.
The success of the event is a result of hard work and experience of the Friuli Off Road Club that has been able to assist in a remarkable organization led by Nicola Bianchi.
Saturday morning, after the inscriptions, technical testing and briefing, crews were lined up on the start line of the prologue to determine the starting order for the morning race which was held on two different paths: one for the Superseries and Prep and a different one for Specials.
The race schedule for this first day included two group races that represent characteristics and pitfalls of the Attimis terrain. It’s not just speed that matters, hard technical difficulties and mud demand a lot of experience.
Among the SuperSeries, first race was won by Borzi / Ferretti. In the Prep class, the first part was dominated by Arrigucci / Arrigucci. Buggiani / Pellegrini, known for their clean and precise driving, have dominated the race in Special Class.
On Sunday, which was the last day of competition, drivers experienced special stages that have always characterized the XTC Championship, both for their high technical difficuties and diverse situations to deal with.
SupeSeries crew Sturniolo / Scianna won the second race. Morandini / Morganti found their way to the top of Prep Class. Collarini / Koci have virtually dominated the second race with their impressive performance.
The second race was the final test of this electrifying weekend. For sure, XTC is a great example of perfect extreme off roading. All thoughts have already turned to the third stage to be held on May 9 and 10 in Castro dei Volsci.
At the end of this exciting weekend, here are the results.
