A beautiful weekend organized by FLS 4×4 staff gathered old friends and fresh off road addicts to enjoy the Rainforest Challenge Global Series 2016 race. The RFC South Europe was held in Italy a week ago on a great location perfect for off road racing.
This amazing location was a great surprise for Luis Wee, famous director and creator of the Malaysian Rainforest Challenge mother event.
On 27th of May everything became clear, the prologue showed enough. It was obvious what a great event this will be on the following days and in the future.
On Saturday, teams entered into the forest. To conquer or not to conquer? The decision is simple, but are they all capable to overcome worst natural obstacles. Branches, mud, rocks and anything else you can imagine was on their way to victory.
To overcome as much as possible within a given time period was the goal of the competition. Due to that, the pressure was so thick you could cut it with a knife. It resulted in a few rollovers and many tricky situations.
Spectacular SRM Toyota BJ team. Andrea Giaccaglia and Luca Gresta.
Torre is a river near Udine where the action was happening on the third day of the Rainforect Challenge italy 2016. Fast and short special tests saw a rollover of another SRM team.
Alessandro Guidoni and Sergio Moccia!
After all those special tests, the staff and competitors returned back to base camp for the award ceremony.
Top two steps of the podium were taken by SRM teams, 1st place goes to Guidoni/Moccia. Second place goes to Giaccaglia/Gresta. Marchiori/Segat – Team Omega finished 3rd.
It was also a pleasure to see one of the old school off roaders. Sandro Signorini who had the honour to experience the real Malaysian jungle years ago.
FLS4x4 staff promised one more RFC Italy next year with more teams and more special tests.
