The OTA Globetrotter Rodeo 2016 was held in Austria on the last weekend of August. More than 1,500 vehicles and over 75 exhibitors visited Erzberg this year. In addition to exhibition and chilling in the camp area, there was a packed program of talks and a lot of off-road fun.
The 12th OTA Globetrotter Rodeo, which sees itself as a festival, exhibition, meeting and organizational platform for travel, adventure offroad and photography enthusiasts from around the world, has become part of the most important events of the scene throughout Europe.
Among the speakers this year were again a few highlights such as Joe Pichler, who was traveling with his motorcycle from Salzburg to India, Gunther Holtorf, who drove his Mercedes G (Otto) 26 years around the world… In addition there was some excellent workshops like that of Michel Mongeville who gave an introduction to the basics and peculiarities of the first assistance on off-road travel.
Ulrich Dolde told about the self-expansion of motorhomes, David Wießner, the fire cooking, gave two workshops for cooking on an open fire and Peter Kück explained how travelers can create a blog.
At the fair this year were represented more than twice as many exhibitors. Also, there was plenty of mud! We were very pleased to get to know some of you. In addition to program and exhibition, there was free off-road driving on the 600,000 square meters of land.
All in all a successful event with great weather, great people and a great organization. We will come back to OTA Globetrotter Rodeo 2017
