First of all. We wish you a happy and successful New year. May all your wishes come true! Hopefully, the new 2016 will bring luck to all the competitors at the Dakar rallye which starts tomorrow with the prologue stage.
It’s the longest marathon in the history of mankind, up to 1000 kilometers long stages. Physical preparation is of utmost importance since there’s only one day off at the Dakar rally 2016.
A catastrophe has struck Chile, major floods did a lot of damage in certain regions so the route has been modified a lot and will now start in Peru, pass through Bolivia and finish in Argentina. The Dakar rally 2016 will be hosting one of the most challenging routes in the history of his race.
A classic start to the Dakar rally as it used to be in Africa, high sand dunes of Peru will welcome the drivers and give them a taste of what’s expecting them. It will then head to Bolivia and its high mountains where the physical preparations of the teams will be tested. This part of the route will most likely be the toughest on. Due to thin air in the mountains, it is not going to be easy for them to conquer the high “Altiplano”. The last stop of the race will b in Argentina, where the rally will finish. Argentina has hosted the rally since it arrived on the continent eight years ago.
There is nothing I could say to describe the Dakar rally perfectly, if you haven’t been there, I am not sure you can understand potential fatality of the race. A deadly combination of toughness and length of the route will surely cause major problems for everyone. GOOD LUCK!
