After twelve victories at the Dakar Rally, Stephane Peterhansel is doing a good job at the Dakar 2017 too. The veteran of the Dakar Rally started his racing career in 1988. Born in 1965, people would think his era is coming to an end. But after three stages at the Dakar 2017, he used his long experience to win his first stage of the event.
Sebastien Loeb entered the third stage as first overall, unfortunately for him, All-Attiyah did his best and immediately took the lead. Soon after that he badly damaged his Toyota Hilux and opened the door for Stephane Peterhansel who went on to win the stage and climbed to 3rd place overall.
Stephane was on Nasser’s tail all the time, but he soon grinded to a halt due to a broken wheel. He lost an hour, Peugeot used the opportunity which resulted in a simply excellent performance.
Sebastien Loeb stays first overall, followed by Carlos Sainz and Peterhansel, Peugeot now holds top 3 and 7th place overall.
Due to bad luck (or lack of something else), Al-Attiyah is not even in the Top 10. I think we can all agree there is no chance of Nasser’s success at the Dakar 2017.
