Croatia Trophy 2015 Circuit Race sounds so innocent, a little run around a field perhaps. Nope. It’s a real car killer!
10 crews are set off together to bump, bash and splash their way around a 4 km track that got more and more chewed up on each pass. Basically, chaos! And we love it!
Gigglepin racing team is still the overall leader, here’s what the co-pilot Wayne Smith said about the circuit race:
“Race day today. It was brilliant! 4.5 km long circuit, 3 laps, 10 cars at the start line, after 100 meters the course narrowed to 5-6 meters.
We muscled our way into 2nd through the first trees, with a bit of a love, tap here and there to get through, God knows what was happening behind in the rest of the chaos…
200 meters later we nailed a fresh line through the long grass to take the lead and attacked the rest of the course.
Multiple mud holes, a short hill, climb, open sections through grassy plains and a few tight twists through the trees. It was a great stage layout and the car is simply amazing.
We drove all but one mud hole and answered the question – “drop axles vs. solid axles”.
Cars with drop axles were getting bogged where we were driving, and the acceleration through the mud from the Maxxis Treps was enough to put a smile on anyone.
Spidertrax axles, 6.2 litres of V8 awesomeness, 40″ tyres rock.”
