Best or not. It depends on lot of stuff. Driver, codriver, vehicle and a hefty amount of luck … Nevertheless, when off road car looks good – it looks good. And that’s a fact. That’s why we prepared a list of 6 great looking off road vehicles in Europe.
Please understand, this is our own choice and it has nothing to do with the quality of certain teams. Moreover, it is up to you if you agree or not but feel free to post a comment or a photo with your own choice. I hope you’ll enjoy these photos and a short text about the car and the team.
- Off Road Armoury EUROFIGHTERS
Made by ORA, Eurofighter is a great piece of machinery. It was built with one thing in mind – to race in the Ultra4. This design is very well know in the Ultra4 Europe championship. This vehicle proved itself all over Europe AND at King of the Hammers. New Ultra4 Europe season is starting soon. Let’s wait and see what’s going to happen. But we can say for sure, Levi Shirley and Rob Butler did one hell of a promotion for Off Road Armoury Eurofighters.
Specifically made for 40 inch tires and suitable for both coilover and bypass suspension, this vehicle will rock your world. IF you have the money to buy it.
Just like Off Road Armoury they too have a proven recipe for building a good off road vehicle. Owner, Gordan Krota is continuously pushing the limits of the latest technology through his outlaw and template racing experience. “We try to keep it simple.” says Gordan. “Our main objective is to make the cars fast, reliable and easy to work on and maintain. We are continuously working on testing the things that will help keep our customers satisfied.”
All of these cars are based on a tubular chassis. It is engineered with a simple, strong and lightweight design, while maintaining driver safety as top priority. By default, all cars are built on Volvo C303 portals allowing high clearance while maintaining the overall stability of the vehicle. Other than that, your car will be equipped with Coilover shocks, a PTO winch, Maxxis Treps 37″ and a lot of stuff…
- BMW PROTO Independent suspension Buggy
It is just amazing to go against the rules and build something based on your own idea… This guy first appeared at the Croatia Trophy 2015 and the Wild Boar Valley Challenge 2015. Not the best result, I am affraid. But we like this Hungarian buggy a lot. Cool BMW “design”, cool paintjob and independent front and rear suspension put this baby on our Top 6 list. Even though independent suspension buggies didn’t show good results in European off roading, I am sure we will be seeing this guy (Szilard Magyar) again soon!
- Tornado 75 Land Rover Defender
TORNADO 75 Ultra4 Team from UK. Jamie Muir and Tim Platt are racing in the “Modified” class. If I am not mistaken, last year they raced at King of Wales and the Kirton off road rampage. Hopefully, we’ll see more of them in Ultra4 2016 season. Whole point of this team is to have LOTS of fun and prove that racing can be done on a budget!
- MONSTTER.PT Defender from Portugal
We don’t know much about this vehicle. Pedro Alves is competing in both Portuguese national off road championships with this Land Rover. As I said before, we do not care what their results are. But this car is just amazing. The paintjob and Maxxis tires just look perfect on a car like this one!
- Project RE-VOL-VER
This car is very well known on Croatia Trophy and Maltese winch challenges. The name “REVOLVER” comes from three things – Freelander, Volvo and Rover, it’s a vehicle of extreme capabilities with a Land Rover V8 heart and Volvo portals.
Project revolver by Ciapella Garage is a prototype based on a tubular custom chassis. Bodywork is made of aluminum. Both winches are mounted in the rear and it’s equipped with Maxxis tires! Unfortunately for you, we like green combined with black…
