100Tracks 4×4 is the newest and most innovative 4×4 competition organized so far in Romania. With 15 years of experience in off-road competitions, 100Tracks organizers bring the competition from forest roads, forests and ravines in the digital age and mobility, through navigation by GPS tracks.

These are sent to competitiors by e-mail, from where they can be loaded into navigation devices such as tablets, GPS devices or smartphones. Navigation can be done both on operating systems iOS and Android.

Registration of competitors is done online, by creation of an account on 100tracks.net.

The competition has a high degree of interactivity. Each vehicle is equipped with a GPS beacon that enables real-time viewing of each crew position on an interactive map (see http://100tracks.net/map/ ).

For participants, the major difference compared to traditional offroad competitions is that navigation is no longer made by the old roadbooks, but by using GPS tracks. “Competitors receive by e-mail the GPS track, load it into the smartphone, tablet or GPS device and all you have to do is follow this track route. It’s as easy as navigation by GPS in a city to reach a friend’s house”, says Rasty Petzalis, the main organizer of the championship.
